Fabricated and designed in collaboration with Coleman Buckley, these boards can serve as wave riding tools or art in a home. 100% of the proceeds go to The Surfrider Foundation, The Conservation Land Trust, or victims of California fires (you get to choose which you want your purchase to support).
Red Ibis
Velia on the art • A Heart of Red Ibis, 18 x 24 gouache on canvas piece was created while traveling through Italy.
Coleman on the shape • “Glide in early and step on up the nose! This board is a predictable stable stage to dance on. Up front it has subtle nose concave for maximum lift and control. In the back a wide tail block with a flip through the exit rocker helps lock in the back while you’re on the nose. This design is an elegant choice for sliding around in the sea.”
Stock dimensions are 8” x 22.75” x 3” 74L but are made to order so can be tailored to you. These boards are built in California out of polyester foam and resin then polished to a gloss finish. The art is sublimation printed and laminated under the fiberglass for durability. Due to the handmade nature of these items there will be some small variation from the images shown here. Board production takes 4-6 weeks.

Fragmented
Velia on the art • Fragmented, 36 x 24 inches gouache on canvas was part of my solo show Resilience. This piece depicts flora that are on the endangered species list.
Coleman on the shape. “The goal with this design was to create something with an excellent amount of glide without sacrificing maneuverability. This board is super fast and surprisingly quick rail to rail, great for cruising in all conditions. I think any surfer would have fun on this shape but its an especially great board to learn on and continue progress with. Its a great choice in everything from friendly little splash sessions with friends to serious waves. All that you want from a longboard but in a smaller more sophisticated package.”

Menagerie
Velia on the art • The Menagerie of Nature’s Mysteries, 36 x 24 inches gouache and oil paint on canvas was part of my solo show Resilience.
Coleman on the shape • “Twin fins are probably my favorite thing to ride a wave on. The smooth flowing lines they like to draw are truly timeless. However sometimes an air section or a barrel comes your way and you want to be ready for it when it does. To evolve the design I incorporated a more aggressive rocker and refined the foil to emulate the performance of a modern shortboard. The resulting ride is a fast, skatey, and loose while maintaining glide and forgiveness. A true swiss army knife of a board, this design is a great tool for everything from soft little peelers to days when the ocean starts to flex.”
